Another
season looms large on the horizon, I find myself, and not for the first time, less than enthusiastic about the prospect of going to matches and then writing
the same old stuff, week in, week out.
With this in mind, I have decided not to write about the games we go to this
season - after eight years it has become a chore rather than a pleasurable
hobby. I have talked to Kev and he is of the same mindset.
We will still take in about a hundred games in season 2015-16, but it will be more about actually watching the games, rather than capturing the relevant moments with pen, notepad and camera.

The "maggie's" charity blog of last season was a kind of "last hurrah" - and for both me and Kev, a cracking way to bow out. I will probably continue to list the weekly local non-league fixtures, but with the increased media coverage given to the local non-league scene recently, I even wonder if I really need to do that any more.
Kev and I would like to say thanks to all our friends who have supported and read the blog over the past eight years - we've had some great times and met some absolutely cracking people, most of whom we now consider to be our friends.
We are not going to go missing, and with a predicted one hundred games from July 2015 to May 2016, we hope to see you at pitchside sometime throughout the season!!!!!
We've not changed much really - just a few years older - and both probably a little bit heavier!!!!!
